The Zinkwazi Launch
Expect a shore break at high tide and rocks to the south. Launching is tricky when the river mouth is open, and there are restrictions on some public holidays.
uThukela Marine Protected Area
The coast from just north of Tinley Manor into Zululand is part of the uThukela MPA. Some zones are closed to all fishing. In the offshore pelagic zone only gamefish such as tuna, couta, dorado, billfish and garrick may be caught, with no bottom fishing or anchoring. Fishing from a boat is not allowed between sunset and sunrise in the controlled zones, and sharks may not be targeted. Launching is only allowed at designated sites. Your skipper knows the zones.
